New Style Music Evolution/Question Answered 2007-09-02

I'd had a mail a few days ago asking the following, also i've been asked a similar question a few other times. So here's the answer.

"Hi there im loving the recommendations, so many different styles and the quality of the artists are amazing. However i do have one question, when is YOUR release coming out, looks like its been a long time coming. Is it still on its way and will it relate to some of the genre's you review?"

Good to hear some enthusiastic feedback, big thanks for that. Here's an extract from previous news on the website...

~ There's been a fair shift in musical direction since the launch of the website, with the music taking on a much more emotive and upbeat style than ever before. As for previews of the new material, well im keeping them under wraps untill closer to the release date. Very excited about the direction its all going in, really looking forward to it all. ~

So the release date has not been confirmed and will also be a much later date than previously expected. But the endless amounts of effort and patience are just further adding to the quality and diversity of the release, things are shaping up really well. There will also definatly be a couple of big suprises close to the release date, but for now we'll all have to patiently wait for it as it evolves. Hope this answers your question...

New Musicians ~ Radio Sessions!. January 07 2007-03-03

Happy New Year : )

Well the good news is that everythings heading in the right direction, despite the many complications on the way that have slowed the momentum of the release. Last year i was saying that new tracks would be up at some point, but since then i've had a slight change in plans. So for now its all gonna be a bit of a mystery untill closer to the release. As for what to expect vibewise for the new album, it'll be more upbeat and uplifting than previous material. Tracks will range from deep atmospheric trip hop, to warm uplifting electronic acoustic crossovers and upbeat dubby bass driven beats.

Recently i've been working with another amazing musician on the release, violinist Katy Rowe will be playing on various tracks of different styles. Very excited about the projects we're working on and some of ideas we've already recorded and are due to complete in the near future. Her own style in sound is bringing a beautifully rich element to the Free Souls sound.

Thanks for all the positive feedback about the recommendations page, much appreciated. Plans are for the project to evolve further in 2007. Im currently looking into setting up some radio sessions via the interenet or possibly with radio stations. This will be based on the wide ranging styles of music that i've been reviewing over the past year. I'll keep you all posted when any news regarding this is confirmed throughout the year.

New Musicians & Website Features ~ April 06 2006-04-23

Thanks for all the feedback recently, the kind words are appreciated
Really looking forward to putting up new music on the website for you all soon.

At the moment im currently working on a track with established slide blues/folk guitarist Martin Harley who's style is truly mindblowing. Its an interesting combination of styles and its making for a great sound. Also discussions with new vocalists are currently underway, as are plans fo remix for other artists. If interested feel free to drop us a line.

We're looking into getting a new forum at the moment, this will be more secure, solid and stylized than the current one. Hopefully this will provide a better vibe in which to meet like minded people and create. Also we're currently in the process of working on another new feature to the website, a competitions page. This page will feature any Free Souls competitions, these will be interactive, inspiring and creative, and will hopefully provide new inspiration to a wide range of artists from various backgrounds.

Website Features & My Space ~ March 06 2006-03-27

Welcome, well there's heaps of things happening in our world at the moment.

Firstly the websites going to be expanding and evolving more and more in the future. The Free Souls website will become a more varied, creative, interactive and inspiring place to visit. New features will be announced soon.

Hope your enjoying the Reviews/Recommendations Page, if you have any recommendations yourselves drop us a line on the forum. Writing the reviews have actually made me realize what styles i listen to most and what inspires me as a musician. It also makes me look at where our music's going and how its evolving.

Also as mentioned in december's news was the release date and details of new musicians working on the release...the release date will be announced in early summer, and details of new musicians will be announced over the next couple of months. We're currently pushing our music further afield, and we'll now be featured and available to listen to on My Space in early april. New Free Souls music will also be added to our website and also to our My Space page over the next couple of months.

Full Tracks Coming Soon ~ Dec 05 2005-12-28

Since the launch of the site last month we've had some good feedback and the site has been busy. Thanks for the kind words and for getting the word out.

A few people have had difficulties with realplayer when trying to listen to the music. This issue is currently being resolved, and as from January 2006 Windows Media Player will also be added. Also full versions of the Free Souls tracks will be available, instead of the current clips that are on the site.

New tracks ranging from upbeat dubby bass driven beats, to light and dreamy global influenced tracks are currently being worked on, full details will be released soon.

Also we are in the process of finding other vocalists. Varied styles will be considered if interested and based in Cornwall contact via the contact page.
Plans for next year, the expected date for the release, and new musicians/vocalists
will be announced by February/March. Davey

The Free Souls will be working on new music throughout the new year, while working towards a release in 2006. Inspiration and ideas are plentifull for our new projects, new elements and influences will be blended into our sound. Also projects involving new musicians and singers are currently being formed, although no firm decisions as yet.
